Pete and Br1an, thanks dudes...hmmm....now I gotta try to find these damn Raybrigs! ha ha ha! I wonder how much they run? I'm not too concerned with light output since I never really read things in my car at night, I just want the best lighting "effect" as I can achieve without spending an arm and a leg.

I know I'm just spinning my wheels here and that what would really make me happy is a custom build. Awwww hell...what to do what to do?

Yeah, I gotcha Pete...I knew those bulbs existed, but just never thought those were used for the map lights since they looked too long for me. Thanks for passing along the info.

I'm more than willing to be the guinea pig on this one, but I've got other things I'm focusing on right now. If you find a source for these SMDs, you know who to talk to first.

Mike, I'm guessing they'll run at least $25-30...Raybrig bulbs aren't cheap.

I just like seeing a thread with 'festoon' in the title.

Ha ha ha ha ha, leave it to me..."festoon" ha ha ha, makes me think of a "cartoon festival" or something...or maybe that's just my crazy brain at work

Now, back to thinking...

Mike, a while ago I used to think like you. Don't need output because I just like the effect it puts out. As soon as I got the LED's I found that that they were so dim that I couldn't take it anymore. Needless to say, I changed back to halogen until I can get some more time to build my new unit.

If I succeed this second time Mike, I'll make you one.

can you guys say...30LED dome light? (rated at 20000mcd!)

Just installed the ba9's inverted and the light output on it is very low.
Any other bulbs to try out?

damnit! I just bought 2 of those off fleabay for $8!!!! They haven't arrived yet but still...oh well...

Nah man, seems like you HAVE to go custom to get the total effect we're after. That sux

These are the fleabay ones I bought, look at ebay item #6007431361 and tell me if that's what you're using sputnik. Thanks

Yep. I finally got the Ba9s inverted pure white, installed them and just as I thought...not bright at all...it matches up better with all the other led's in my interior but as I suspected, custom is the only way to go...oh well...
