Ha ha ha ha ha, don't worry Mark...I still have the SC...for now
I'm actually just doing a bunch of little things to it to help me fight off the urge to get a new car, lol. I'm doing a 97 front bumper upgrade this weekend and I also want to get some other LED's to spruce up my interior lighting. I bought the luxmods kit but it just isn't enough. I know that buying LED's this way is probably still not going to net me the results I'm after, so I fear that a custom build may be in the works for my interior lighting. We'll see...
LED's are relatively cheap so if this doesn't make me smile I'll hopefully only be out of $20-$30...no biggie, live and learn
This is what I've come up with so far for my SC:
4 #194 9-led wide angle bulbs in xenon white (2 for my door entry lights and 2 for my city lights next to the headlights)
1 festoon dome light (31mm) white 9-led bulb for the dome light
2 #74 xenon white led bulbs (for the ignition and footwell)
and finally 2 led bulbs to go where the overhead personal lights are...I just have to figure out which led's will work best in that location. It's a funky little bulb with 2 prongs on the socket end so that it sort of twist-locks in place. I think it's a 3175 or a 1156/1157 bulb...me thinks
Ideas? Suggestions? C'mon...spit it out!
PS-Carlos, I'll need you to help me design a siggy one of these days...I guess after years on CL I should have a damn siggy by now, lol

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news Mike, but no such LED bulb (that I know of) exists for the map lights ("overhead personal lights"), and I know for sure that they aren't 1156/7.

#Ba9s (aka Bayonet Single Contact)
Your options....
4 LED Ba9s
5-LED Matrix Ba9s
Focused Clear LED Ba9s
Frosted Focus LED Ba9s - spreads light
Inverted LED Ba9s - wide angle
Colored bulb Ba9s

Not sure if those BA9s will work in our cars due to the longer contact points. One thing I do know is that they won't produce nearly as much light output due to the positioning of the LEDs. The bases also seem to be longer than normal, but that might just be the pic.
Those Raybrigs definitely look like they're worth a try....I'll be waiting on your review Pete.

I was just replying to ur post. Yes...there are LEDs for the map lights....as for light output, thats another issue.
I been running the Ba9s Inverted for over a year now....on my GS....and its ok....but the those Raybrig SMDs look like holy grail for my maplight.... too bad I dont have the energy to hunt them down. Maybe someone else can take the lead on this? Br1an?
