I will be ordering a 2006 IS 250 soon, and noticed that the luxury package includes illuminated door scuff plates. I saw them at the dealer today on an IS 350 and think they look fantastic, but I don't want to spend the $3700 extra for the luxury package just to get lighted scuff plates (they are alluminum, and say Lexus, I believe they are blue LEDs).
I was wondering if it would be possible to install these on one without. Or, if any of you have done something similar to your Lexus, I would appreciate any info about this. I'm an electronic technician, so automotive electrical is not a foreign language to me.
Thanks for your advice.

Thanks for the replies, guys. Someone in the IS second generation thread just posted complete wiring diagrams for IS 250/350. Looks like a doable job......
Now I just have to order the car![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I will post some pictures when task is completed.

I've been thinking about doing this since the day I got my car, I've just been too lazy to actually order the part. I know for a fact that the wiring is there, I've pulled off the stock door scuff plates and there looks to be a plastic connecter that is waiting for the illuminated scuff plates to be plugged in.
