Default Just a heads up to people using Polarg M6's

I had the M6's in my car for a little over a year now and just recently both sides blew out on me. I noticed they went out (not at the same time) when I started using the auto setting to control my lights. Before this I would always turn my lights on and off manually and bulbs never had a problem then. I don't know, maybe it's those few seconds of just sitting there with no air flow to cool the light housing that causes them to burnout. So a heads up, you might want to manually turn your lights on and off if you want your M6s to last.

no air flow to cool the housing?! what do you mean. there is no air "blowing" into the housing....

in any case, i wouldn't say that's common but we have seen more than a few cases. the m6 is just to big and HOT for that housing environment imho. all my friend's m6 blew out

my m4 has been there for over 3 yrs and still rocking -- knock on wood

I know these things are running at 18w each, 3 times the amount of the stocks so they must be making a ton of heat. This heat has to go somewhere so I'm speculating that through heat conduction, some of this heat is transferred to the housing which is cooled by the air flow during driving.

I've touched a few auto bulbs that has been lit for only a few seconds and it gets hot enough to burn yourself already.

My M6 were ready to blow up. I dont think the bulb was made to be tuned On continuously (in the wedge)....maybe as an On / Off type bulb like the signal blinkers or reverse bulbs.

You could see the internal burn marks inside the bulb itself....and the heat was starting to deform the shape of the bulb.
