UV-like xenon lights on a CRX w/ factory housing... likely to get cited.
Plasma-like xenon lights on a late model Lexus w/ projector housing... very unlikely to get cited.
The more it looks OEM, the better you fare. Of-course it's relative to the car you drive. Lately I've been seeing Ford diesel 350's w/ HID's in their regular headlight housing- it was like ET's mothership...
