Yep oem OSRAM bulbs burn at 4300k for the first 100 hours and the phillips none + burn at 4100k for the first 100 hours. You wont need to change any wirring or ballast it will all work by just changing the bulbs. I wouldnt recommend going past 6000k since the light output will be reduced greatly. When comparing 4100k to 6000k phillips bulbs side by side the 6000k produce about 30% less light then the 4100k bulbs. Going past 6000k your lightoutput will equall to that of a halogen bulb found in regular headlights and the light color will range from aqua to deep purple and even pink. If you like function over look then stick with oem 4100k-4300k bulbs, if you want to add some "bling" to your color then go with 6000k but be prepared to light up less road when you drive. If you wonder of past 6000k then get some night vision goggles and you'l be fine

I disagree.....!!!
I believe the main reson make the bulbs blow out is those cheap ballast produce unstable power to the bulbs and so make that more easier to burn out! If you have the OEM HID system, then you already have the good ballast. If you don't have the OEM HID, I recommend to buy a good one!!!
I have the 6300K installed in my headlights. You can see the picture below, it comes out is " pure white " not blue or purple. If you go with the 8300K or up, then you will see the blue and purple!!!
The first 15 seconds after you turn on the headlights....

I also was trying to figure out if I could just buy the 8000k bulbs with out having to buy the whole kit and what I found out www.xenonpros.com was this...
(3) Why do I have to purchase the whole kit? Why can't I just order the HID bulbs?
Cars use a 12 Volt Electrical System for their headlights. HID systems use over 20,000 volts to ignite our bulbs. For this process to work, with out kits we include ballasts, which allow the HID bulbs to run without a problem. These ballasts are taking in all the necessary energy to keep the HID bulbs running longer than your automobile.
So now I'm doubting just buying the bulbs. I rather just get some PIAAs and not have any electrical problems.
