i saw that thread. i think what happened was no one knew what ur intentions were for the light. but they still were quick to judge b4 u had time to tell them what u wanted to do. but from what i see in this thread... u might have soemthing on ur hands. keep us posted man. u might have just started a new "LED taillight" mod.

Still have to see the final pics but looks good so far.

Nice way to breathe some life into the first gen tails. I tried those same lights in the '97 tails when I was doing the R&D for my led tails. Didn't work because they were too small for the area required. The dual design of the '92's take well to these tho. Nice job.

interesting, they actually look better in the 92 tails due to the fact that the LED's light is refracted (correct word choice?) off of the lenses, rather than shot straight through like in the 97+ tails.

Good looking out.

I did remove one of the defuser from inside the tail light but left the last one. Also if you keep the LEDs as far back away from the Tail light Lens as possible the light is less "straight shot" as you said.

touch about 1hr for one side. I didnt care about cutting the housing since you cant see it when mounted .

its not the fact that its 12v or not. the tail lamp failure sensor senses an overall current draw. hope it works though. keep us updated. looks like an awesome way to circumnavigate (10 pt word?) the whole taiil lamp sensor module deal. if the total resistance of the board equals the resistance of the stock bulbs, youre in the clear.

Yep, the car will see less load from the leds and trigger the light on the dash. I just removed the light in the cluster. It never came back on.

And you will need a LOT of leds to equal the load from the stock bulbs.

Great idea, just don't know if the oval leds in a square section matches that well. The picture in your first thread doesn't look that appealing.

Gotta give you credit for trying this though.
