Hello...

Anyone here have removed their license plate light cover to replace the bulb on a 02~06 / ES300 ~330... I am planning to change the bulb to Polarg 194 but I am not sure if the cover just comes off by prying it or I will have to remove the carpet at the back??

I did the mod myself. all you have to do is remove the clips from the inside of the trunk. Then the whole carpet comes down and you can change them. I used L.E.D.s and it looks great.

Very cool mod. Do you by any chance have pics of it? I've never seen it before on a '02-'04 ES.

This is cool... but on my 06 trunk, apart of the easy clips I have this trunk release handle (incase you get trapped in the trunk..hmm what the hell) no idea why they have this.. but how did you get this removed? cause I cannot get the carpet removed without removing this handle... I am not sure if you have this in yours or its just in this model... let me know if you need a pic of it... damm it really frustrates to change the simplest thing on this car...

for the handle. it is 2 pieces. look at it closely there is a cover on it which pops off. once it pops off there is a star shaped ( * ) thing. get a screw driver and wedge it in there wiggle it around till the handle pops off. be careful not to break the star shaped thing.

Like sk72 said its very simple, two pieces just dont break the * shaped part, take a screwdriver and push the star parts in and then just pull the lever out. Ill have some pics of the polarg 194's i put in

Thanks Guys... will try it.. infact I tried to open the piece earlier but just got scared I might break it cause the front piece was just to tight.. will try again.. it is like a clip on thing right...
