Best bulbs for cleared front turn signals?
I recently updated my headlights to the '04 style, with the green tint. I've also had the turn signals cleared.
My question is this: Is it legal to run the turn signals with clear bulbs, or do I need to run amber bulbs? Do they make a bulb that looks silver when not lit, but then lights up amber when the blinker is turned on? I know SilverStar makes these in other sizes, but unfortunately they don't make the size we need for the GS.
Am I worrying about nothing? I like the cleared look, but I don't want do get a ticket for having clear bulbs as well, and I don't know if idiot drivers will not understand that I've got my blinker on if it doesn't flash amber...
Thanks!

They do make silver coated bulbs that blink amber. I have them in my cleared turn signal area of my JP tail lights. Just need to do a bit more googling of the bulb type you need with different search criteria to find them

I've asked this same question before in the NorCal forum and was told that clear is illegal in CA. I am currently running the PIAA yellow bulbs (that match my yellow fogs) in my cleared side markers. I think it looks great but I know i may get nailed for it eventually. My cleared sidemarkers did come with orange bulbs. Haven't seen silvered orange blinkers in this size myself yet but they have to be out there.. Have you asked this question in the lighting forum?
Check this link.. it's how i found out about the yellow PIAA bulbs.. it also has the link to the lighting forum in it about half way down:

also, in case you do want the piaa bulbs or others.. this site worked well for me..

and here is one last one that worked fine for me as well..

Thanks for taking the time to respond, guys. I think I'll just go ahead and buy something that is clear when not on, and flashes amber. I don't want to draw attention from cops, anymore than a nice looking black GS400 does already. I've never been pulled over so much in my life, as I have with this car!

You could put some LEDs in there which is what I did. They're perfectly invisible when not on and they blink amber when the turn signals are on. It really gives my cleared corners a truly cleared look. No trouble with the cops yet........
