Never install those cheap Korean HID kits. They get extremly hot and die after a year. The best ballasts are made by Denso or Hella.

I have 8Ks in my headlights, and I also had 4300K HIDs in my fogs. Two days ago someone stole my fog lights and I am very unhappy about it. The only good thing is that, they could not get to my ballasts. I had them under the hood.

When I first installed HIDs in my fog lights, I placed them behind the front bumper. Both, right and left sides have plenty of space for that. However, I had a lot of problems with them when it was raining. Actually, it was only the driver's side which caused problems. The passenger side was always dry. The ballast would get wet all the time and would not work. I even burned one once. So, I had to extend the wires and place them under the hood, where the other two from the headlights were. Never had a single problem since. Also, most of you know this , how easy it is to take off the fog lights. There are only two screws there. Having your HID ballasts under the hood is not only saving them from the rain, but also from thieves.

Replace that philips screw on the foglight housing with an hex head screw. 99.9% of the time thieves targeting our cars will only carry a phillips. Thats probably because 99.9% of GS owners have the original phllips screws on there. There are also keyed screws. Kind of like a wheel lock but in the form or a small screw....only problem is that these are a bit expensive while you can get all 4 hex screws for less than a dollar.

I, too, have 6000k HID fogs in clear housing/lenses. My kit is a Polarion kit that uses Phillips Ulitinons, Phillips ballasts and a true plug and play harness. I've had them for almost two years and absolutley not problems.

lol, or just get body kits. if it uses the stock fogs, usually it's mounted from inside, so it's hard to take off. if it's lip kit, usually it clip on the bumper around the fogs, so you can't take out fogs unless you take out front lip

I have Philips 6000K HID's in my fogs. I also upgraded the OEM 4300K HID's in the headlights to 6000K Philips bulbs.

These pics show the 4300K headlights and 6000K fogs. I don't have more recent pics with the headlights when I upgraded them to 6000K bulbs.

Yes, indeed my friend! I still can't believe I will have had my GS for 4 years this November! It's been a roller coaster ride on here as well as driving the GS!

indypwr - that is an AWESOME SC...

I like how you really get some ground coverage close to the car with your fogs.
