I was wondering, I have a set of D2S bulbs, and was thinking, would D2S bulbs work with 2GS reflective Xenon D2R OEM headlights??? I know that the base is different and wouldnt go on a D2R base for the ignitor, but a dremel would resovle this.
Basically, I know they would fire up and I could get them to fit, but I guess my question is: Would I still get the same cutoff, or would it get out of sync???? I was thinking the cutoff/output might be affected Because D2R bulbs have metal pieces on the glass while D2S bulbs do not.
Has anybody done this, if so pics pweeze?? I dont want to blind people, but I was thinking maybe those metal D2R pieces hinder the output some, and D2S bulbs would give me better output, without blinding people if I could keep the same cutoff. I think it possibly is possible if the step and cutoff has all to do with the reflector, and not necissarily the bulb. Thanks ahead of time.

D2R and D2S OEM HID bulbs should have the same base.
Yes, you will get a different output with D2S bulb in OEM HID reflector housing. D2S are made for projector housings....not reflector type (2GS). I suggest sticking with D2R.

thanks everyone for their input.
BUMP
So nobody has done/seen/heard someone doing this? I might be willing just for pioneering sake. But I still would be happy to see someone elses results if they had done this, before I venture into possibly messing up these bulbs.
