After checking out my buddies new IS I noticed a few things I liked. One being what the gauge cluster does on startup. I've seen this needle sweep on several different cars. Mostly I like how the needles light up first. Although the sweep would be nice too, I'm not too confident that it can be done on an older cluster. Has anyone done a backlighting delay or know if this is possible? I think this would be a nice modification that would give a bit of a modern twist on a nearly 15 year old car.
Very nice O.L.T! Is that how it looks when you first turn it on and then the backlighting comes on a few seconds later or does the backlighting stay off?
Whoops, just remember this thread was here. A long time ago I cut the tracer off the main board and spliced a switch into it.... it's been like 2 years. The top 3 ribbons on the back of the cluster have tracers for the backlight.
