Does HID bulb orientation matter on install?
I just got my car back from the shop,... and of course, I had some funky beam pattern,... and I was wondering if there is a "CORRECT" positioning to how the rebased HID kits go into the housing for the lamp. I guess the positioning of the 3 prongs.

from my understanding the pattern is thrown off because the HID bulb is longer (and thus the source of light is moved) and the reflectors inside the housing are built for a shorter halogen bulb.
perhaps if the bases of the HID bulbs were built closer to the light source on the HID bulb, it would effectively make the bulb shorter or maybe adding another layer of plastic on the rear of the headlight assembly will work??
I dunno, just letting my mind wander.

Ok, so I have OEM GS300 HIDs (Phillips oem bulbs with lexus ballasts) that I'm retrofitting and doing the 9006 rebasing. I cut the ring off of the 9006, but now I don't know how it lines up on the HID bulb. I tried to leave the wire facing down, but that doesn't seem to help much since the HID bulb plugs into the ballast 6 different ways... help! Thanks!

I just installed a kit from xenon depot and since the bulbs are rebased for 9006 i can only put them in one way and it just so happens that the return wire doesn't face down.
Also, those rubber rings at the bottom where the base is made it impossible to fit the bulb in the housing. Had to remove one of the 2 rings
