Default is it safe to do this?

first thing, i am going to buy a set of 2002 GS430 HID's from my friend for $150... complete with bulbs and ballasts... is that a good price? second, i am planning to cut off the HID plugs and reconnect 9006 Female plugs back on so i can plug them into my 98 NON-HID GS400 and I am wondering is this a safe thing to do? i've been reading threads about wires melting and all that.. and i was wondering if i do this will my wires start melting? also will the hid bulbs plug right back into the socket that the halogen bulb came out of? please let me know guys, im gonna buy it soon! thanks in advance!

just the bulbs and ballast? well it's ok price i guess, but you can't fit it in your halogen housing. you can get the rebase, but why the trouble, might as well get hid kits.

and no worry on melting the wire, hid runs less power than halogen

i dont know, i read on here that OEM hid kits are better than aftermarket hid kit? well since the oem hid bulbs wont fit into the housing then... have you guys ever heard of the brand PILOT? is that good? i can get a PILOT brand hid kit for $200. if you guys have any info let me know plz thanks!

the oem setup is better ONLY if you have the hid housing as well, which is different from the halogen housing. with the halogen housing, putting in the oem hid kits won't make any different on the light cut off
