HID Conversion Pics! NEW
Hey guys, I just purchased a Jaguar X-type. Upon seeing the light output at night I decided to puchase a HID kit. Got it off of ebay for $160 brand new including shipping!!!!! Hell of a deal! I had to purchase the H1 4000k Bulbs. Here are the results.. Enjoy! Oh yeah, the install only took about 30 minutes, compared that to 1-2 hours for my SC300 (because of mounting the ballasts).
The factory Halogen projectors are Hella.. The cutoff line and the hue are AWESOME! I'm very impressed with the output also!
Here is the kit I purchased.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HID-X...56053907QQrdZ1
I will keep everyone informed on their durability and performance

I will admit that the instructions are the clearest and most understandable I have seen for installing HIDs. They are also custom to the bulb choice you make. So the instruction I got were specifically for the H1 bulb.
I did need to refer to them a few times.

The factory wiring of most vehicles is 16-18awg and then fused with a 20amp blade fuse at the box. MOST if not ALL HID kits (factory and aftermarket) draw a MAX of 20 amps. The wire should easily be able to support an increased 5 second burst of power so long as it is not well over the wires limit.
You would probably be hard pressed to actually find a case of someone's harness burning up from the factory's wiring harness meeting its electrical limit.
I wouldn't doubt that there have been electrical problem probably more related to a ballast failure.
But you are correct; I also always recommend a direct to battery harness.

I got the same kit but the instructions suck, it's totally different product from the instructions. Can anyone of you who bought it show a quick diagram of how you do it and what parts did you get extra for the relay switch. I e-mail the person but he/she didn't reply me. Thks in advance for your help.
