I dont have any first hand knowledge with 9012 but according to the ebay seller the housings for the 9012 are identical to the 9006.
For the record, I will say that the 9012 should plug and play with the fog light housings without any modifications. If the 9012 bulb is exactly like the 9006 then there should be no reason for them not to. If anyone has any experience with 9012's please chime in.
I can confirm that the 9011 housing is the same as the 9005.
As for the light output, the 9012's are brighter then stock 9005 bulbs according to his (ebay seller) lumes test. Then again it could all be marketing, but you will not be disappointed with 9011's. At least I wasn't. I would expect that 9012's will be very nice also.

The GS fogs are 9006 from the factory. If you use 65W bulbs instead of 55W, it is possible that the wiring harness will melt.

If that is indeed the case, then yeah, go for 65W HIR for fogs - it will produce more light. But I've read a bunch of posts where oversubscribing power lead to meltdown. It didn't happen day 1, some occurred a year down the road. I think the duration of use contributes to when it occurs. YMMV.

It is always ideal to increase the amount of wiring and run a separate harness when increasing the capacity of electricity from what is recomended. In all honesty, I do not believe that 10 watts is sufficient enough to change the harness. You should do what you feel comfortable doing.

I've had my SC400 for a little over three months, and installing HIR bulbs in the high and low beams was the first thing I did. Pretty good improvement - low beams went from dismal to adequate. High beams went from fairly bright to artificial sun. The beam pattern hasn't changed from the stock bulbs.
They'll let me see until I actually get around to a HID retro...
