am stuck on which to pick;RX330 retrofit or gs400 oem hid?
i am replacing my headlights for my hid mod (cos mine are reflectors)and wanted to know which would produce better output and look beter.
i have 2 options that am being offered now.
RX330 projector retrofitted into GS300 housing with black housing,
OR
stock OEM 98 GS400 hid set-up .
let me know which you think would be better of and why guys.
als, would the black housing in the housing with RX330 projectors cause a reduction in light output?
thanks guys
There are some things you have to consider. If money isn't a factor then I would go with a retrofit. You can have better cutoff and better light output. It's also going to look nicer even when the lights are off. You could also go with a bi-xenon setup.
well, too bad money is a factor
are you saying the RX330 retrofit will be better than the GS OEM HID set-up?
cos that where am at right now.
choosing one or the other?
It depends which RX330 projectors you have. If you have the RX projectors where it the body has no cover, then I say go with the GS400 swap.
What do you plan to use for the shroud if you go with the RX330?
what shroud? what is that?
the previous owner had it hooked up to his gs300. the projectors have been retrofitted into the gs housing.
am i missing something?
don't worry, i will post some pics when its all done
i am thinking of blackening my clear fogs cos it might not complement the black headlight housing if they remain clear. but we'll see when they get here.

good luck trying to open them, i nearly broke my fogs trying to. i settled with some smoked film to put over them for now. it matches nicely but it makes my HID fogs look dimmer.
