Default Silverstar Utras an upgrade?

Just bought '03 GS300..was wondering if the new Silverstar Ultra bulbs would be a worthwhile upgrade on my car vs. OEM bulbs? I use Silverstars on my SUV's and they help but I didn't know how good OEM bulbs are. THanks.

I had silverstars on my last car and I wish I saved my money. Halogen is halogen and it doesn't get much brighter. Go HID or not at all.

If you must go with something other than HID, consider HIR bulbs. They're $30 each (assuming you have 9006)

Posts already on this site on the Ultras-do a search. Used them in a relatives Acura-much brighter and so far has not burned out like the previous none Ultras have.

When I bought my 2nd gen gs I put in the ultras to get me by until I finished my retrofit they are much whiter than stock and in my opinion are pretty good as far as ouput, once I did my ls430 retro I put the ultras in my foglights and they match very well

Agreed.
I've used SilverStar and SilverStar Ultras but my neighbor upgraded his GS from stock 9006 bulbs to HIR bulbs and it looked better. But The SilverStar Ultras are not bad neither.

You do know that silverstars...or any bulb with a tinted coating on it will REDUCE light output. But before spending 50 bucks on silverstars, check out the 'cool blue' line which are cheaper and still look the same. 9005 Mod it! (that is when you take a 9005 bulb, which has a slightly higher voltage, but is still 100% safe for your wiring harness and clip off some tabs so that it fits in the 9006 housing, so its essentially the same as having your highbeams on.
