New HID won't light up
Alright, just installed a pilot HID kit from ebay. 9006, 6k bulbs. Everything was perfect, lights lit right up, and worked great. After my first drive, the driver side HID refuses to ignite!! It flickers 3x and never actually lights up. Passenger side still works flawless. The kit was a direct plug and play. I checked the wires multiple times, and even tried swapping the bulbs out with a spare i had. The bulb is definitely not the problem. Has anyone had experience with this? I'm thinking I might need a relay or something but I'm not sure.

you have a wire harness with a relay/fuse wired inline??
sounds like the ballast isn't getting enough power.

You should always use relays with aftermarket HID's, and if you have the light switch on auto , turn the ignition switch on and let lights come on before cranking the engine.
The voltage drop causes only one light to start.

More often than not, ballast failures occur due to not having sufficient power and ground. This is why adding a direct link to the battery and a really good ground cures the flickering and strobing that is often noticed with kits that pull power from the factory oem bulb wires.

Check your harness. Make sure the relay's in good working order. Also make sure your fuse holder's functioning properly and finally make sure your wires are of good quality. I can't stress that enough.
I had someone on here make me a harness a few years ago. He's long been banned from this site but he made my old one out of cheap wire and after a few years of use, you can really see how and why you should do it right the first time around.
I too had some of the same quirks until I personally had to redesign the harness I he gave me.
Have you fixed it yet?
