is 30A relay okay for a/market hid kits
i got two different hid hits for my lows and fogs.
The fuse for the fogs keep popping.
i checked the kit and its fine but everytime i replace the fuse and turn it on, it pops.
i noticed that the kit for the lows have a 40A relay and a combined total of 50 for fuse(2 15s and 1 20). the one i got for the fogs only came with a 30A relay and i think the fuse was a 25 or 30.
i have tried looking for a 40A relay for the fogs but cannot find any as most parts places on carry up to 30A.i definitely know its either i have my fog harness polarity the wrong but just want to confirm if its okay to use a 30A relay for hid 6000k kits.
thanks

thats the same issue i was having with my plug and play for the gs300 as well, i think it all started when i left it on "Auto" and using the remote to shut off the headlights... i upgraded to a 40a fuse yesterday and so far no issues, the 20a fuse i had was literally almost melted and popped, so i know for sure the 20a is not enough.

40A relay is fine. Hell, the wire you're using is good for 30-40A anyways if it's 7' of 16 gauge. The more important issue is the fuse itself, not the ampere rating on the relay. The rating itself is just how much the relay can handle before you're overloading it. Use a relay that's rated for 100A if you like. The ballast will only draw a certain amount of amp. I was able to find my 40A relay at my local electronic store without problem. 30A should be sufficient though, so you dont need to go around looking for 40A.
