Default Bosch E46 Bi Xenon + SC400 Questions

Ive seen E46 Single's retro'd but Im going to try to get a bixenon in.

Why? cause I accidently bought the bi xenons.

DopeSC was nice enough to trace me the bosch projector template Now im assuming the bi's will still line up, im just worried about making them fit...

1 First off (its been awhile since i last retro'd). Does the lenses flip over the light? as in the cutoff shield is at the TOP of the projector or the BOTTOM to output the light normally.

2 retarded question. nm

3 ...do you think it will fit? lol

Matt

The motor should be on the bottom. The motor will pull the bottom of the cutoff shield back exposing more light.

No it should be on the bottom because the lens then inverts the light.

Where is it too close at? Was the set adjustable after you did it?

please talk to me? tell me why? Its a gift, so its going to be hard... I was worried about it hitting the plastic on the sides, but nothing a heatgun cant do... stretching the plastic.

I the overall height of the projector is more than 3", you will have to cut the bottom of the headlight out, and fab a little box that would house the bi-xenon soleniod.

So measure the height, from the bottom of the solenoid, to the top most part of the projector, and we'll go from there.

The TSX should fit easily.

Length = 166.95mm
Length(seat of the lens to mounting holes) = 66.65mm
Length(mounting holes to end of bulb) = 80.70mm

Ok let me put it this way

TSX output > E46 output

TSX retro hassle < E46 retro hassle

i hope that helps you better make your decision.

I understand.

Keep in mind. I have been given a set for a GIFT. returning gifts is mean lol. I dont want to fork over MORE money for this. I got enough more important projects to do instead.

Not to mention

E46 HIDS > SC400 Halogens. If my hassle includes making the bottom of the headlight housing a little larger, whats the big deal? cut plastic and gluw together? a few hours of work to save the hassle of buying new ones and selling the ones that were given to me as a present?

So back to my original question at hand. How much room am I looking at needing?
