Best name in HiD is McCulloch kinda pricey but it is well worth they wont burn out or give you problems for atleast 2 years from my experience and i wouldnt go any higher than 10K kinda blueish white in color thats really bright but I use 6K nice white color thats good enough for me. I hate ppl that have these crazy *** bright HiDs that blind you when they drive by I mean come on u want ppl to see ur car go by not just a blurr of light

McCulloch is cheap (in price and quality) compared to the Hella, Phillips, etc sets. I've had McCulloch on my old car and no way they compare to the other brands out there. I only bought it because it was affordable, but sold it a few days later. There are people who had problems with the ballast malfunctioning. I did like the color, just not the quality

GE (General Electric) makes HID bulbs in 6000k and 8000k I believe. They aren't Philips or Osram but they are a known brand so I'd trust those over Chinese bulbs.

From what everybody is saying on this thread, seems like 8000k is just not bright enough? I was thinking of an HID upgrade and i was thinking of 8000k, but dont want my baby to look like a rice honda, just need alot of light and a tint of blue....... seems like the 6000k is just plain white.... right???

4300k once color shifted is pure white. 6000k is white with hints of blue.

I wouldn't say they're the best but they're not the worst. I ran they're kit in my car for about a year then I ran the ballasts for about another year, never had any problems, I would definitely recommend them.

So has anyone had a problem with bulbs they bought affecting their ballasts?

So many options it's taken me 3 days now to decide.....

You're making this more difficult than it has to be.

I just ordered mine......ordered me the 8000k set from ebay, im just giving it a try since this is my first time with HIDs. Just make up your mind and get a set, from the looks of it, it seems like 90% of people on this forum has a 6k hid on their car, i just wanted to be different but not ricey so i went with the 8k set!! lol

you should just got inbetween 4300k - 6500k. im going to be using 6000k since it gives you a pure wire color. but it varies from company to company and the quality of their bulbs. i consider white because it covers all colors on the color spectrum. The bluish hues will effect your eyes after a long driving period. compared to the white hues since your eye is getting expose to every color instead of one solid color. the blue hues can actually damage the rods and cones in your eye
