Default ls430 v ls460 hids

so i was driving home the other night, and started to come up against an ls460 and ls430 and thought how nice the car was. and i noticed that the lighting off the 430 is so much more superior than the 460.
did anyone else notice this yet?

That's because the LS430 is indeed better than the LS460 as far as width/intensity goes. I'd say the LS460 is more comparable to the s2000 projectors both in width and light intensity. The LS430 has the bottom reflector to reflect off to the side. That's what gives the LS430 the wide beam pattern. On the other hand...The LS460 only reflects light to where output lacks.

and the fact that ls460 uses d4s, that degrades the light a bit

Yeah I noticed that too. LS430 lighting is much brighter/wider.

I noticed this driving home the other night as well. The LS430's is much wider than that of the LS460. I thought it was quite odd.

I wonder what will happen when I put my 85122 bulb in my LS460 projector?

I will compare it to that of the LS430, and post back here in this thread.

Cant argue with that. But I think Lexus should have made them much stronger.

for some reason car designed in the 90's are better in quality and design compared to the ones in the 2000's......lol...just kidding...i have noticed that myself...430 does have a wider beam than the 460....housing design is the cause of that!!

I have posted comparison shots of both projectors at HIDp a while ago. Although the LS460 is a winner in the looks department but output is no where near as good as the LS430 .

The LS460s HIDs turn when the driver turns, so theres no need for the wide angle like the LS430 has. Obviously, if your gonna do a retrofit, go with the LS430s. From what I can tell(my grandfather has an LS430 and my grandmother has an LS460) the LS430 has a brighter output, but theres not enough difference to complain about when driving around the city. If your out on an empty, unlit highway, then I feel bad for you..haha, jk, but they the LS430 would be better. You could see the whole highway, I think the LS430 projectors are like 4-5 lanes wide or something like that.

04+ had AFS.

I rather see what's around the corner before hand, rather than once I steered already.
