I don't think those are original Bosch manufactured ballasts.

Bosch ballasts look completely different. They almost always have a separate ignitor and only work for d2s/d2r bulbs. The plugs that you have are pnp bulb connectors, which bosch nor philip makes.

The original Philips ballasts have a different plug at the end. Here's a picture of an oem philips ballast (can be found on most ~2000 audis).



Here is a standard Al Ballast. Notice the separate ignitor box. These are common on european cars.


Sorry... i didn't mean to burst your bubble. Just want to make sure that you know what you got, and maybe get your money back. That ballast is no different than those ~$100 kits.

 

^^ Agreed, bosch ballasts are OEM on many BMWs, rovers and MBs. The bosch that OP has shown in his pictures are aftermarket Chinese/Taiwanese ballast with Hella/phillip shells and Bosch name.

 

No... These are German standards for Bosch with Chinese finishings or however it is stated. None the less they are up to Bosch Testing standards. But yes they aren't legit BOSCH but they do have lifetime warranty on the Ballast and 2 year warranty on the Bulb. I bought them for 145 shipped in the US. I'm not too worried about it right now since they look nice. I did edit the pictures though if anyone noticed on the first post.

 

$145 isn't a bad price for a "hid kit". The oem used ballasts are normally about 200 for a set. So even if it isn't legit, it's still a good price.

 

Yea... But im going to talk to the guy i bought the kit from and see whats up. Thanks guys for the info even though i had a feeling they weren't original from BOSCH.
