Default Clue me: OEM HID on second gen GS

The stock HID doesn't use a projector, but does it give the clean/sharp cut-off that I see on projector HIDs? Anybody have a picture that shows the beam pattern and cut-off?

I was checking out some retrofit projects and I'm trying to decide if I should just get OEM HIDs or retrofit on my non-HID 2000 GS. I really like the cut-offs compared to the glare HID kits give off.

Thanks

Stock HIDS don't have a nice cutoff like projectors do. They don't glare like aftermarket plug and play kits, but they don't have the nice beam pattern.

Thanks. Now I'm thinking about a LS430(Primarily because of its shroud design) retrofit into the GS headlights.

And that's not even the best thing about those projectors.

wow, so many CLers on hidplanet. whatsup jnc? i see you all the time there as well.

i plan to do the ls430 as well, just purchased the set. should be here soon. but there are other alternatives to this rather pricey setup. hidplanet.com is your friend!

Good choice, but how are you going to fit those massive projectors into the ES? When I did an E46 bixenon into my ES it barely fit. I would go with TSX instead.

Werd, I dont think you can fit the LS430s in the ES, I personally have wasted a good set of headlights trying to fit them in my TL . TSX or S2k , here is how the S2k would look

My vote goes for S2k

Yeah I know but I wanted a cleaner/OEM look to fill the large gaps of the GS headlights. One thing I've seen people do was use stainless steel bowls or something from the hardware store, and that is NOT what I want to do! The LS430 has a perfect shroud design, but these headlights are very pricey.

Do you guys have any pics of other retrofits on the 2nd gen GS besides the LS430 and Q45? Thanks!
