So I went to hell and back today with swapping out my old license plate lights with some new LEDs. While I was changing them, this little rubber piece that looks like a big chunk of black macaroni came off... It was to the left of the bulb, behind the exposed, clear plastic (basically behind everything/inside the bumper). My question here is: What is it and do I need it? My hands are FAR too large to put it back on and I am hoping it's nothing serious. Here's the pic. Thanks, guys.
Looks like a vent to let moisture out of a lighting fixture. There's a bunch behind headlights but I've never seen one back there. If it rains a lot you might need it.
