ok so im guessing its the bulbs that are malfunctioning, just found it weird that the color would fade as oppose to just burning out. If I buy the exact bulbs mentioned above will I retain my stock HID look?

alright so i'm supposed to get Phillips D2R or D2S bulbs as JnC mentioned? i find it really strange that one side just turned purple overnight but it did snow here in nyc so mayb it could be the salt...will replacing the bulbs fix the prob or do you think my housing or perhaps ballasts could be the culprit

didnt even know i could do that cuz i thought the bulbs were diff for each side, but i'll give it a shot. thanks for the headsup on the phillips bulbs cuz dealer wants like 200 for each side (which is what led me to believe i could not test bulb on other side). just gotta find a seller cuz ebay has only "phillips quality" bulbs...

Lol, yeah sorry I meant D2Rs. I even gave the right model number for D2Rs which 85126+ rather than 85122+ which is for D2S, that should tell you that the last time I messed with D2Rs was ages ago . Make sure you change both of them rather than just one.

Above is a link to an auction from akinaboy, he is a good seller and many people have had good things to say about him over the years. Also note that your output would be a bit yellower than what you are use to at the moment. This is because the old bulbs in your headlights are severely colorshifted (aged) and with age they gain some color but loose intensity. A new set of D2Rs such as 85126 are rated at 3100 lumens and 4100 kelvin (for color) and knowing that your bulbs are aged 10 years it can easily be said that yours are close to 5000k on color and around mid 2000 for intensity.
Akina boy's auction may list the bulbs to be 5000k color but they indeed are 4200k and intensity is 3200 lumes. So new bulbs would be more intense but will be less whiter .
