Spinteews,

It's not as hard as it looks. Basically, once you have finished all the setup and install, turn on your lights, make sure its running well...

Then just try to slide your ballasts slowly through downward inside, use either the double sided tapes provided or plastic strips to secure it. The idea is to secure it and "hide" it...

Question

Hleo1,

Is that a K2 hid ballast what you have installed there? Just wondering becuase I'm still debating whether to go for the K2 kits or the !00% Philips setup. The reason for this is that I've heard and seen that the K2 kits (which are korean made) Produce a very purple color as oppose to the German made Philips Ultinons. What I'm concerned about is that if the color is too purple on the K2 kit on a free from reflector housing. What do you low beam Ultinons look like from a distance???? do you have any pics? thx for your time.

Hendry and Mike,

That reservoir top for the windshield washer fluid comes right off. I seen the guys at Lexus do it. They turned it clockwise or counter clockwise and the thing came right out. All it is, a tube connected to the tank where the fluid sits. Looking at the Pic that Hendry took this might help you a little bit.... Check it out...

cool! Thanks mrsypher!

ezlyf,
Yes, that is the K2HID ballast that I purchased from Autolites.net. However, the label on my ballasts stated that it's made in japan.

Actually in terms of which is more purple, it depends which type of bulb you buy. I don't think the ballasts make the difference. For example, autolites.net used to sell 6000K HID bulbs. Now they already have 8000K. If you bought the 6000K "supersun" from them, then it's not going to be purple.

You might want to read this thread from the beginning, I posted some pictures as well comparing the 6000K from Philips Ultinons and the 6000K K2 Supersun from Autolites...

Spinteews,

I talked to John at autolites and asked him about what's the real difference between 8000K and the philips 6000K? Basically in terms of color, he said the Philips 6000K has a little more purple color compared to the 8000K.

So I think again it comes down to personal perference... As for me, I'm just going to stick with my Philips, since I like the color and already spent money on it...

John offered to sell the 8000K kit to me for $600, since I've bought stuffs from him before. If you really want to buy from them, tell him Hendry referred you, perhaps he will give you the same price.

OR,

You can buy the kit on ebay for $520 including shipping.

Here's the ebay link:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...762059&r=0&t=0

John is a very nice guy, you can always call him if you need help with anything, excellent service... But I don't know about the ebay seller, in terms of post-sale service....

Hey guys,

I have a non 02 RX300 w/o HIDs.

How hard would the conversion be for me to convert my car to HIDs?

I've read where some guys on the MDX forum did a conversion where the kit was easy plug-n-play. There was no messing with the battery or anything like that. The HID kit plugged right into the existing wiring harness. This was a full HID kit too, not the stupid fake bulbs.

Is that the way it works on most of them, or is there wire splicing involved or wires you have to, somehow, hook up to the battery?

It'd be much easier to just plug in a bulb instead of doing a conversion

I guess I'll take it in to some shop to do the conversion(I'm really not all that experienced with messing around with cars)

It's not just the bulb. It was a full HID kit with the ballast, bulbs, etc. It was just designed so that it was pure plug-n-play. Check out the following link to the acuramdx.org thread for details.
