Whats the difference between Volt Kit and the Xtreme HID (other than size, price)? Side by side it looks like the Volt kit does not come with a harness (maybe thats why its cheaper too?)...so does that mean I wont need a harness with this kit? I have the Xtreme HID kit now, and really tempted to get this kit as well for my IS.

So, Volt gets its power from OEM harness? Sorry for sounding like a newb, but I really want this kit simply because its thin and it was a pain to install the Xtreme kit on my IS350. So my question is, is the Volt kit safe to use on a 2IS, considering its getting the power directly from a OEM source (my car came with Halogens)? I am happy with your 5K Xtreme kit, but the Volt kit sounds like a really good deal...just want to make sure it wont mess up any electrical stuff.

^^Same question here. Wanting to order from you asap. Just can not decide between the two, want a easy plug and play system for my non-hid's IS250. Want it to work with no hiccups though. But that car hardly gets driven at all, so if its no big deal to get the volt kit (cheaper) then I will do it that way. Thanks for your time.

Hi,
The Volt kit gets plugged right into the OE harness. The ballast is a low draw ballast so you do not run the risk of overloading your OE harness. I personally like the relay harness that the Xtreme kit comes with though as it ensures that the ballasts always receive a constant 12V. One way or another though, both kits will work great!

Steve,
My car was originally a non-hid GS, and I recently had the headlights retrofitted with Acura TL projectors which came with a set of xentec ballast (no harness); Would your xtreme hid kit work on this set-up? And if so what type of kit and harness do I specify upon ordering? i.e D2r, HB4 etc.
