just wondering if anyone on here has tried using a HID lense on there lamps with like a cheapo pilot etcc plug and play kit and have seen any difference in quality of there beams i was jus surfing flea bay and was thinking of changing the lenses on my 99 sc300 with these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/3-Cle...Q5fAccessories


does any one know whats the size of our projectors lenses are??? im tempted to throw away 70 bucks instead of 500 to a semi reto fit if it might improve my cheapo hid s like 20% anyways call me cheap but just wondering if this will work and if its been done before

Umm...you can buy good HID projectors for about 100-200, search around a bit. You can use a regular PnP ballast, with the typical red/blue male/female connector, and buy adapters for d2s bulbs, take a day and get the projectors in, and you are good to go. SC is REALLY easy to fit something like TL/TSX projectors.

Just changing out the lenses won't do much, maybe a sharper cutoff, the projector housing isn't made for HID bulbs, so the focal point will be off and you won't get the right beam spread/you'll get hotspots, etc.

^ What he said, but you can forget about trying to fit TL's in your 1SC headlight!

Better fit is e46, or Valeo for our size constraints! Check out my thread, I'm selling stuff off for cheap!
