H3 bulbs use that silver spring to keep them in place

but the H3 bulb doesn't work the same (i think)

I wish it was like the lowbeam, where it just snaps right in.

did a search but seems like no one else has had this issue (LOL< so it must be me doing something dumb)

Just put it in. I had to move it around a bit to put it in there on my car. Pretty sure everyone else is the same. For some reason I had it in one way, wouldn't fit so I rotated it 180 and it fit so maybe thats your case

are you sure you got the correct h3 bulb? There is an h3 and an h3c. If you have the small h3 bulb, you need to go with the h3c for correct optics.
