Thanks guys. I put 2 of the old bulbs back in and this time they lit up, and it no longer flickers! But I think 2 of the 4 new blue LEDs I purchased were bad and/or made bad contact like you all said. I'm gonna buy 4 more and try again, the blue on the volume control **** just looks too good!

BTW the LEDs were the Superbrightleds.com Neo Wedge 3mm. They only drop in 1 way and its harder to rotate them because of the rear pattern (its not even phillips screw size), the volume leds were the same, but I dropped them right in with no twisting or modification and they worked; the Temp ones wouldn't work for anything and one of them I know shorted out for sure.

I sent my climate control to Lextech to make it LED blue also, so I gotta get this right, can't wait to see the finished product! Again thanks!

I would hook them up with jumpers to a battery, just because they are new doesn't really guarantee them to work. Sometimes there are defects with all this mass produced stuff. Or maybe if it works in your hand, just not installed in your switch you can bend the contacts and make it work. BTW, did you get the SMD's or the "old style" glass LED's ? and are they bright?

Thanks! I got the regular LEDs, and yes they are BRIGHT! You can see them even in daytime.

You can buy the Neo Wedge LEDs from Autolumination and you dont have to solder.

I used superbrightleds and bought 10 of the NeoWedge Instrument LED bulb $ 1.29 (each), Blue NEOx-B 3mm NEO3-x. This did the odo/time (1), vol/temp (4), trac (1),
heated seats (2), norm/pow (2), and I ordered 2 NeoWedge Instrument LED bulb $ 1.29 (each), Blue NEOx-B 5mm NEO5-x. These 2 bulbs did the park light, and the other bulb did the D, 2, 1, indicators, in the shifter. They have all kinds of colors and brightnesses to choose from.

To the OP. Why didn't you buy ones with the resistor already inside?

I bought a package of loose LEDs for the window and door lock switches, and I had a pack of various resistors laying around from other projects. I just used the leftovers for this new project, a freebie !!

Heres a pix of mine with everything in but the odo/time light, and the norm/pow button. Superbrightleds sent me the wrong ones. I must have hit red instead of blue. I wanted to share with everyone my outcome with blue LED lighting!
