2001 ES300 XenonDepot H3 4300K Foglight Kit and randoms
Just posting some pics of my foglight upgrade that I did in the summer. I ordered the XenonDepot H3 4300K kit, did the full swap (which wasn't so plug and play) and here are some photos to get an idea if you're looking to do the same.
Stock Low Beam HID
Stock Low Beam HID + XD HID Fog
I played a little bit with the aiming of the fogs as you will see in the following pics. I guess I could have aimed them a little lower towards the ground, but I preferred to get a little more glow on the sweet spot and supplement my OEM HID's.
Stock DRL Halogen (Hi Beam half wattage)
Stock Low Beam HID
XD HID H3 Fog
Stock Low Beam HID + XD HID Fog
The stock HIDs seem to be a little warmer slightly, as you can see a little more bluish output in the fog HIDS. It's a very close match, but not perfect. Either way I am happy with the upgraded foglights. They don't seem to make a great difference in the rain (as most can't see anything no matter what the lights in the rain) but at night on dry or snowy roads you can really appreciate where you spent the money.
Some other shots and a pic of my brothers newly acquired Coach Edition. His car came with halogen low beams, so I convinced him to buy the XD kit for his lows and I put them in for him. Now he has the look, although with his housing made for the stock halogen, the beam pattern is not as even as mine. Mine coming with the HIDs lights and housings.
Like I said, I put the H3's in my fogs and 9005's in my brothers lows, anyone with questions let me know. It's a lot easier to speak on these installs after you do them yourself. Thanks to NYC ES3's write up. If I didn't have that info to start with I would never had been able to do the mod. Thanks and tell me what you think.
Cheers,
V
