Default What's your Fog wattage?

What is the fog light wattage on the 1992-1994 ES? I got a 1995 and it isn't very bright, only 55W. I see many older ES having factory fogs that are extremely bright in amber color. I'm talking about the rectangular shaped fogs and not the rounded ones that are found on few older ES.

Default Most fogs are 55w

Most of the fogs you'll get in any factory setup will only be 55w. To much BS to deal with for local regs if any brighter. There are several bulb options that you can purchase sepeartely to increase the output though...it's more a matter of how risky you want to get. If you are planning on driving with them on all the time, I wouldn't go more than 85w, you may damage the housings from excessive heat. I'm not sure if it has more draw on the wiring, I'll let the engineers here answer that one.

I have used many Piaa brand superbright H3/55W bulbs---> Ion Crystal, Super Plasma and they go out fast. Neither of them get close to being as bright as those amber fogs on some ES. I see too many of them on the road for it to be an upgraded bulb or even new housing so its gotta be factory. Why can't mine be that bright? Is there a fog bulb that is 85W or higher? If so, I might change to higher wattage wiring.

your 85w bulb will only draw 2-3 amps extra, so you should be fine there. if your fog housing is plastic, the increased temperature may start melting it. if you're only going to use them in bad wheather, then you should be ok.
there's a lot of sites where you can buy bulbs and upgraded wiring harness. don't be buying any "ion" crap or anyhting with film over the bulb. yeah, they'll seem brighter to the oncoming traffic, but you're reducing the brightness you need to see the road from your car.
now, i'm only using my fogs when needed. if you're just installing them for show, then buy whatever you want. high wattage means brighter, higher temp (3800K vs 5000k) means whiter.
