Default I'm baffled and I ca't figure it out

So after having the same hid kit for going on 5 years one of my ballasts for finally crapped out on me. I also have a friend who had the same problem happen to him. Since my friend had already purchased a new kit I asked for his one working set. So I went ahead and left my original ballast, ignitor, and bulb on the left side and I installed his ballast, ignitor and my original bulb on the right side. So now the problem is that the two different kits will work by themselves but when I connect both kits at the same time it pops a fuse in the drivers side kick panel. The only difference that I can notice about the two different kits is that on my kit the wiring from the ballast to the ignitor it has 3 wires, and on his kit is just positive and negative all the way... Does anyone know why this could be? If so please let me know cuz I can't figure it out... Oh and by the way I am using the kit for my foglights and I have the factory hids for the headlights.

You need to get a harness with a relay in it to protect yourself.

Check your leads with a multimeter, and reroute your wiring accordingly.

I have a relay if you need one.
