i thought so too in the beginning, especially with the comparison of pictures of both beams shooting at the garage door.
it's actually the other way around. the range of the beam actually goes further than it did before with my halogen bulbs. also, i see the road A LOT better with the HID's installed vs. halogen.
so to set things straight, the HIDs do give better output than the halogens regardless of the pictures of them on my garage door. btw, they are 5000k

so you put HID's in a halogen projector? That would explain the output difference. not suppose to put hid's in a halogen housing whether its projector or reflector bowl. You may think you're getting better output, but in actuality you're not. it may be spreading further, but its less controlled cause of how the housing is directing the light.
