Here are pics of my RX (2004) if anyone can tell me what I should order from HIDEXTRA. Basically I wanna change my low and high beams to HID, I suspect that my low beam are HID but I do not think they do a good job either way. The High beams don't seem to be HID, but I dont know.

This is the light I get before I turn on low beam (I believe parking lights, but this is not a concern)

This is low beam:

This is with high beam - more orange than the low beam):

Close up of what it looks like high beam on left, low beam on right:

This is focused on the high beam light:

Please advise thank you! Step 5 on HIDextra lets you pick if you already have HID or Halogen and only lets you select one, but i'm thinking mine has both so would I order twice one selected for each? Also what combos would you suggest, I was thinking 6000k low beam, 3000k fog, 8000k high beam. (Does this work generally what do you get for high beam)

mine was with the regular ballasts, slim should be better.

JForce u do have oem hids, why dont u upgrade your foglights to hids? hid highbeam is really not needed.

So technically I just need an HID kit for fog lights and new bulbs for low beam lights? Frankly I don't think my low beams are very effective right now, but with oem hid does it make sense to buy a whole kit? Can replacing the ballast affect the light output? When going from halogen to HID am I going to replace the whole housing unit or will everything be fine with the kit?

Would you happen to know what type of bulb the 04 RX has?

Thank you very much.

for bulb type, www.sylvania.com

i would just suggest getting hid foglights since you got OEM HIDs. but since u say your OEM ones arent working as well, why not just buy brand new Phillips brand bulbs instead of aftermarket ones? when purchasing a HID kit, your just replacing the bulb not the housing.

yep, most of the time its a ballast problem when they flicker. on start up it flickers about 4-5 times each side and then it starts up fine. same with my reverse hid bulbs, flicker then it stops.

I was just unsure if when you mean getting HID foglights for my stock foglights right now, would getting the kit get the job done (replacing the bulb to HID), or would I need to buy other stuff to change it? (i.e. housing).

Last question promise. TY!

Werd.. this happens on my buddies car too that we just installed HIDExtra hid's on. Only one side tho... on start up it flickers for like 3-5 seconds, then boots up fine...

Also the 5000k kit that I ordered (for him) was unusually blue for an apparent 5000k bulb. He's happy with the color tho... but for me and my IS350, I don't know how I would feel about fogs that blue with 5000k D4S lows, especially when the kit itself is 5000k.

take a look:

5000k 9006 kit (lows for his vehicle)

WAY to blue for 5K--that light should be a pure White with "hint" of blue

That's what I said too... But after reading the part number on the kit itself to the lady, she said it was the 5000k part number. Weird right? I find it strange that neither the bulb or ballast says the color temp on it. I can take pics of the box too that it came with where it was clearly marked "9006" "5000k". I called shenanigans the second we fired it up.

How long did you wait before taking the pic? These bulbs need around 40 seconds to reach their normal color. My 3000k starts off green, but turns yellow in under a minute.
