Default Will new HID bulbs help improve brightness?

As far as I know the stock HIDs on my 98 GS are still the original. They just don't seem to be as bright as I expect them to be. Although I've never been in another GS I would think they'll be brighter than this. Can bulbs get dimmer with age? Will a new pair help increase the brightness?

jtgs400 - I can guarantee that you will notice a difference if we were to throw in a new set of D2R bulbs in your GS.

Pick up a pair here for $60 shipped.

My dad's 98 GS400 just had the bulbs updated and he's such a happy camper now. I suggest going with 4300k as the 5k is "dim" in comparison.

Thanks!

i agree, all bulbs will dim over time and use... 4300k would be your best bet if you're looking for light output "usable light" but 5000k-6000k would be best for looks but a slight drop in usable light output... very noticeable in moist/damp roads, dry roads they look the same to me.
