Question MTEC HID install - 2010 RX350

Hello everyone, has anyone tried installing an MTEC HID kit on their 2010 RX350? Mine did not actually come with AFS and it only has the standard H11 bulb, so I decided to buy the after market HID Kit. Before proceeding, I wanted to ask everyone's opinion if where would be the best spot to mount it.

Thanks in advance.

Anywhere away from heat and water. Make sure it's secure where ever you put it. I don't know what the engine bay looks like but I'm pretty sure there's a lot of room in there.

Thanks iSuxel. You're right, engine bay is roomy but i thought i'd ask just to make sure i dont mess anything under the hood the fact that its lexus. I installed HID kit in my other car (toyota) long time ago but it was a different kit. I did not have to drill holes coz the kit came with an industrial adhesive tape. Mtec comes with brackets and screws, so im not sure whether to use those and drill holes or just adhesive tape.

If you have installed one in your IS, maybe you could let me know what you used to mount it.

Thank you!

i would not use double side tape if they were standar ballast but if the ballast your using is slim ballast now thats different story

I had an MTEC kit on my IS250. Pay no mind to the metal brackets and hardware, you won't have to use those. However, get some double sided tape mount to the ballasts and find a place in the engine bay that suits them. My RX350'S engine there are various places, so I am assuming the 2010's will be almost the same.

GL.

Thanks ExclusivIS, I've been sweatin' on those brackets for few days now just looking for holes where I can mount them. I don't think drilling new holes is a good idea either.

Thanks for your recommendation, I will stick to double sided tape and look for the best spot just like I did to my 03 celica. And you're absolutley right, MTEC is the way to go!

Awesome! Glad you went with a solid kit! Is it just me, or do you too think the spot where the projectors on the new RX's is wierd? Why didn't they leave it on the outside where it was?
