Hey guys, I'm planning to do the Q45 retrofit in my 02+ headlights. I was wondering, is the stock HID bowls needed for the q45 projector or any projector? I did a search and I found out the bowls are usually needed if your going to a HID if your car was a non HID, because of the cutoff.

The Headlights i bought are non HID, but someone told me that I needed HID Bowls for my q45 projectors. My question is; Why do I need the HID bowls if i'm using q45 projectors? i would think the light is reflecting off the inside of projector and not the HID bowl?

The halogen bowls will be fine, you're hacking them up and they won't be reflecting any light anyway. I think what you're referring to is that an HID kit in the halogen reflectors won't have as good a beam pattern as the stock HID bowls.

Or the bowls aren't even needed if you use a template!
