Hi, I have a 99 es300 and I like the look of the clear & red tail lights of the 2001 es300's. Could I swap them esaily? Has anyone tried it? Know where I could buy it at a good price? Thanks in advance!

or even a 2000-2001 es300 tail lights fit on a 97-99 es300?

the lights are not interchangeable. I'm sure there is some difference in the way they are made that does not allow for this. i will check up on this and let you know when i am for sure

I measured the width and height one time of a 2000 and my 98 and they were identicle. Just don't know if they'll fit perfect or the wiring is the same. I think they'll fit but i can't be 100% sure. I'm gonna try it soon.

i asked the lexus dealer, they won't fit. he says the way they bolt in and way they wire up are different

Hmm if they wont fit is there neway to take out the center portion and get rid of the yellow which will make it look like the 00-01 lights maybe. I dunno just an idea.

same way you do on the old ones, melt them and pull it out. only problem is that the outside gkass of the tail light is tinted red, so it wont be cklear like you want. that place that i wanted to go to to have custom tail lights made, could make the glass clear for me, but they can't do the fiberglass on the inside

Hi guys, my local Lexus dealer just installed the new rear light clusters on my 1998 GS this afternoon, no problem at all! Much to my delight! I also had them put on the exhaust end trim from the GS430 which is about 1/2 and inch wider then my old (marked and darker) standard one. I reccomend both upgrades!

Nice job with the GS upgrades, even though I think this thread was directed towards the ES 300 model

Wow, this is an old thread BTW, FrankWhite just did the 00-01 conversion on his 98 ES.

i am actually trying to do the same to my 97 ES300, i really like the tails on the 00-01 ES300, i've heard that they should fit, but i'll let you all know when i find out for sure.
