no I did not disconnect the battery...made sure I had the lights off...was all plug n play very easy once u got to the OEM fog light
Ok my 9006 has just arrived. I'm abit nervous about it all cos foglights are lower to the ground and will be water hazadous.

Anyone got tips as to where to put the ballasts?

Do the ballasts need to be earthed? Cos if not, i'll wrap them up in plastic so no way they will get well.

The ballasts can get wet. I hose my engine many times in my other car with never a problem.

Cool. Btw can he ballasts be used interchangeably between fogs and lows. They both are 35W so they should right?

I removed my bumper for the fog light install so that I could secure the ballast behind the bumper support:

I secured the ballast using double sided tape and zip ties:

Probably best to remove the bumper to install but what if you need to change the wiring or something and need access to the ballasts...have to take the bumpter off

Can you explain why you are doing this?

Removing the battery was the only way to find room to reach down and install the light on the left side.

Removing the bumper gave me lots of room to properly mount the ballast and run the wiring for the HID lights. Another way that I have seen to mount the ballast on the IS350 is to remove the wheel, peel back the fender lining and tape the ballast to the inside of the bumper.

I just wanted the peace of mind knowing that the ballast was in a secure location. Removing and reinstalling the bumper isn't that hard. The whole process only took about an hour. Hopefully I will never have to access the ballast or wiring again.

The OP has an RX350, which has a different battery location than the IS350.
