Heeeeelp hids issue
So I just recently bought a 2001 is300 and it's giving me a minor issue. Need Help asap. The driver side head light been acting weird and I cant figure out the problem. The hid's would turn on but give it a while it would turn right off. I turn the switch and it would turn on but still give out. I thought it was the bulb so I replaced with brand new ones and it's still gave me the same issue "on than off". So i thought it was the ballast. Thinking that i bought a used OEM ballast off craigs (since the dealer wanted 610.00) and still did not resolve the problem. what can be causing this to happen? please help. Thanks!!

Try switching ballast from the passenger side to the driver side first, then if that didn't work try switching the bulb also. Check connections/wires if that fails, make sure everything is tight and secure.
Few questions though, Did you replace both ballasts or only the driver side?
Same with the bulbs, replace both or just the driver side?

With the bulb I replaced both side but with the ballast i just replaced the driver side. the one that is giving me the problem. I check the wire's but it seem to be normal. Well to me at least. Also with the ballast built in the headlight. it is extremely hard to just swap and check.

If it's "extremely hard" to swap, maybe it's better if you have someone else check it out for you.
Also there are some vendors on here that sell pretty good HID kits for cheap. Good luck

Thanks for your help but I figure out the problem. It was a bad bulb. The guy who replaced my bulb accidentally cracked the lens causing the bulb to work until it hit the highest peak than burn out. I figure it out when I took it to my sponsor's garage and tear it apart. All in general wasted money on a ballast.
