does anyone know what factors affect the longevity of aftermarket hids, aside from build quality? factors such as weather, number of times ignited, etc.

just wondering if my low beams being set to 'auto' and turning on/off multiple times a day (i park in a dark garage at home and work) is shortening the life of the ballast or bulb.

Bulb hours could be reduced, but who knows... anyways if the HID's were blinking on and off fast, that is one way the shorten the life of a bulb. Example would be the car alarm setting off and the lights are blaring.

yes or no, all kits are different.. i'd say just get something that has a long warranty local is best if not find a company that sends they're stuff overnight for replacement..

i'd buy HID Kits from Reputable brands like Sylvania.
