Pics to follow...Be patient, the sun's gotta set.
I received and installed my new McCulloch HID kit today. Got it from suvlights.com. You'll find Jen, the owner, to be a friendly and rather knowledgeable fellow. Apparently, he ran the HID division at McCulloch. I had my choice between 4200K or the 5000K bulbs (Same price). I chose the 4200K because of the brightness. This mod was for go, not for show.
suvlights.com calls them 4200K because depending on your lamp housing, there can be a difference in color temp. 4100-4300K
I paid $435 shipped 2nd day air. I could have saved $10 if I went UPS ground
It has Philips Bulbs and the install went well, except the silicon O-rings were a little thick and after a call to suvlights.com, I swapped out the O-rings from my Sylvania bulbs and they snugged right in to place. I also upgraded fuses to the low beams from 15A to 30A, due to the power spike at ignition.
Here's some features:
1. Ceramic Coated Hot Wire Stabilizer rod with anti reflective coating.
2. Capsule directly aligned to the original OEM bulb filament. Therefore, the original beam pattern is not altered.
3. Precision manufacturing ensures straight vertical alignment. Again, original beam pattern is not altered.
4. Exact size and fitting as your OEM halogen bulb. No other attachment.
5. 4" silicone coated wires. .
6. Silicone rubber grommet for an additional seal.
7. AMP watertight sealed connectors.
8. Fool-proof positive (+) & negative (-) specific connection.
9. Small size (3"x3"x1½") & weather resistant Ballast
10. Extra long wiring harness to igniter, 20"
11. Sealed compact Igniter
12. Three stage auto safety features prevent Ballast overload due to high heat, power spike, and irregular voltage.
13. Silicone sealed wiring harness, unexposed connection, and no mystery wires.
14. Extra long wiring harness to power source, 24+"
15. Exact size and fitting to your OEM power source. Polarity insensitive, therefore you can not "fry" the Ballast.

Here's an animated .gif file with 2 sec. between each frame.
Starts with the parking lights, then that blue. Mmmmm![Cool](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/cool.gif)
They warm up in about 15 seconds total and get really bright
about half way into the warm up, then settle down to a
pleasant 4200K glow at the end. I drove around a little while
ago and nobody flashed their brights at me. Whew.
I dig them immensely. They sure are bright!
I'll try and post more this evening...I may be busy driving though![Big Grin](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Looks great Paddy! I'm still in awe with my HID's. The best thing about having a night class until 10:30pm is driving home
I like the mean look of the RX with the DRL's and parking lights.
The blue does look nice on startup - kinda makes the full charge look too white/yellow. However, it really isn't. I often see my HID's reflection in windows and other OEM hid's compared with halogens. Still has that slight blue tint...perfect color. It's all about perception.

Jonnystan, you could absolutely install them yourself. Mine weren't that difficult, I can imagine Paddy's were easier than mine b/c of their design. Spinteews did his too.

This mod is a snap. You just have to decide where to put the ballasts and igniters. I paid $435 shipped 2nd day air from suvlights.com. I could have saved $10 if I went UPS ground.

speaking of the blue lights, has anybody out there tried to use GE brand 9005 SB for the high beam (super blue) and 9006 SB for the low beam ? If so, how do you like them ? I have a set, but haven't installed them yet.

ever have something that hits you as really funny and you dont know why...ya that was one of them. I sat an laughed for like 2 mins straight.
Anyways I had a pair of "Super Blues" from GE on my old explorer....and they burned out in a matter of months. Maybe they are different for the RX?
