Cool ES 300 Headlights

I just popped in some APC Ultra White 9006 low beam replacements and they seemed to only be slightly brighter than my '95 OEM's. I was pretty disappointed. But then I took some Meguiar's Clear Plastic #17 polish and DAMN, what a difference. Turns out the plastic housings were so badly scratched up that the light was being blocked... Now I can see!

I've wanted to do that, but haven't been able to find a plastic polish locally and don't want to order online. Where did you find the Meguiar's?

did they look hazy before? I hate APC, consider a switch to PIAA xtreme white.

Thanks, I'll have to check Checker again, I tried them a few years ago looking for it with a different project and had no luck, but I'll try again.

Yeah, they looked really hazy. The polish cleared 'em right up. Do you really notice THAT much of a difference between the APC and PIAA's? I don't want the look of "fake" blue HID's...just a brighter light than the stock halogens can provide.

the piaa ones are a remakable difference. It's worth every penny if you're not gonna go HID. THe light color is "white" and you may think the apc's are white, but there is a big difference side by side. The piaa's are brighter, and whiter, and a better bulb. APC is one of the worst brands out there for blue blubs. Check out ebay for good prices.

Just the outside. The inside is "sealed" and doesn't have scratches.

APC bulbs of any type will burn out WAY quicker than any other brand. I used to have clear taillights on another vehicle i owned, and the apc red bulbs lasted about a month per set. BTW, Venom products are made by APC so don't buy them either...

Hmm, maybe I can take them back out and return them...of course that means digging to the bottom of the garbage and finding the receipt.
