Trunk light bulb for 97
Does anyone know where I can get a new trunk light for my car online? I tried all the auto shops in the area and no one has my bulb and no one seems to ever have seen one like it. I had to argue with a store manager about the bulb once......he swore it was a fuse but I insisted it was a damn light bulb. He said something that tiny could not possibly light up an entire trunk. When he asked me what it came out of, and I told him, he rethought it as being possible...lol.
The manual says it is a Double Ended 194 Bulb that is 2.8 watts.
Any ideas, guys?

a lot of people have gotten different numbers. but the numbers i have match the same one's on my moms '02 RX. and if it has matched throughout 8 years... i'm pretty sure a '97 which is in the middle will fit the same bulb.
for the trunk, you're supposed to pop off the cover... there's a cover... just like the cabin dome. you gotta pop that off.

I looked a little more and found out that the Trunk, Vanity Mirrors and the light on the roof all use double ended bulbs but each one uses a different wattage bulb. The picture below is the entire housing of the light and it needs to be completely removed to replace the bulb. It comes out easily and unplugs from a harness that the wires are attached to.

hey, i went to www.bulbs.com to look for your bulb. i didn't find it, but i did find lots of HID bulbs for only $30... and some very small xenon. i wonder if i can make my flashlight that i keep in my car, an HID flashlight. lol. I might look into it, cause my bulbs arent very bright in that thing...

well i'm not sure... but an idea would be to try like pepboys, or some hardware store around you that also carries automotive supplies. that would be the best bet at getting a replacement. if you want a blue trunk light... then you'll have to search... HARD.

i looked at another place that specializes in hard to find bulbs... www.topbulb.com they did not have the bulb either. have you asked the lexus dealer? maybe you can't just buy the bulb, maybe you have to replace the box it comes in...
