For those of you wondering what color the newest generation of Lexus true xenon HID is here ya go...PURPLE (like acura and audis). This can bee seen on new LS and SC and in Japan (I was there recently). The closest 'wannabe' match is the Krypton Showoff 9006 bulbs with purple tint. These are the highest quality 'HID' bulbs (not real HID) that will last and look extremely close to the real thing. Absolutely kills PIAA. I have real HID in my GS300 and it even looks so much better than that (becuase OEM HID is blueish not as purple. The most expensive (hottest burning) HID is PURPLE in color, white in shine.
Hope this helps. Retail the bulbs cost $60 each or $20 on ebay.

The housing defiaately plays a key role in the color and overall presentation of the HID both on the road and looking at the lamp from any direction. What brand bulb you use also plays a major role as well. Recently, I've also done the Audi TT retrofit to my ES300 and have received my set of E65 745 ECE Bi-xenon projectors (same used in Audi RS6) and let me tell you! I just did a side by side comparison (pics will be up soon) between my E46 projectors and the Bi-Xenons. The ECE Bi-Xenons kill the Audi TT ones in every category. Mounting them will be a challenge but anything can be done and I'm up for it. The color comparison was about the same (looking at the unmounted projector in my hand buring the 4300K Philips) between my already mounted Audi TT unit and the ECE projector. However, looking at them both in the distance like 150feet from the car and facing it, the ECE Bi-xenon projectors totally kills the Audi TT on in terms of flashing violet color flicker from its original cutt off sheilds! Keep in mind that I modified my Audi TT units to produce more violet cuttoff flicker but even the mod was no match for the ECE unit. Let's hope it looks the same behind the Notorious Lexus plastic made for the 95 ES3.
Ohh yeah, optics plays a major role here as well (overall design of the headlight etc)
