Default Reverse light LED replacement

What are you guys using? and how do you like them so far? and the brightness? pics would be great.

I need to replace mine with a brighter output, because I cant see squat when reversing at night and my reverse cam is horrid without light.

Upgrading your reverse lights to LED is not really a functional upgrade as LED light is very directional. You will get more of a "Spot" effect as opposed to a wide light coverage.

LED's will not provide you a large output onto the road since the output drops off after a certain distance. However, when you are looking at them directly from behind, the output is quite high and has an intense light.

These are more for a aesthetic upgrade than anything really. If you used a larger bulb size like 7440, you would have more of an upgrade, but since most Lexus vehicles use a 921 sized bulb, it is a relatively small bulb and you're limited on how many LED's you can put on it.

LED diodes provide very directional light output which is why they are not necessarily a functional upgrade.

I'm going to say the opposite as others on this thread. Ever since I changed my reverse lights to CREE's off eBay, I back up in the dark like a maniac now that I see everything behind me. Especially with the nice while color, it always lights up the car behind me the grille, headlights, and emblem since it's most of the time chrome.

Here's mine.

This seems to be a love/hate kind of deal with reverse light LED bulbs lol. I believe that the 921 bulb size allows the CREE LED bulbs that most manufacturers (including us) to make it at 2.5w of output.

I put cree projector bulbs in for my reverse and what I like about them is that I can actually see out of my rearview camera at night now. It is an aesthetic upgrade but I find it functional as well.
