Impression about 6000k hid kit I got.
Just wanted to share my impression on hella 6000k hid kit that I installed tonight. Overall, I am happy but its not fully what I have expected. It is definately much brighter and blue/whiter than my piaa extreme white bulb which I had before. I have same piaa bulb on my fogs and it looks yellowish now. Now here is my impression and question. After it warms up, the color is more white hue when looking directly at the light but the color is greenish on the road. I believe this might be due to greenish tint that 01 and on gs head light housing has. Most disappointment that I have is that the beam pattern. It seems to be not really focused sharply as I would like it to be. It is scattered out somewhat and maybe its because the bulb looks to be d2s bulb not d2r. I bought mine thru www.misterjung.com and I don't know if anyone bought from him or not. the kit is d2s bulb made into 9006 kit and quality is overall excellent but again I am not sure of beam pattern. Is there 6000k kit with d2r bulb?.
will d2r bulb be better than d2s bulb? thanks for all the help.

I assume you're using the non-HID housing. Internally, the OEM HID housings are structurally different than the non-HID housings. This may be the cause of your problem.

I guess I will try to post some pictures tomorrow. The light IS very bright. I am happy with the kit, just wanted to see what might be the problem. Well, I will try to adjust the level too and see what happens. thanks

how much did you pay for the 6000k kit?
most likely it is yr housing inside yr lights that causes that greenish output. i'm using 39 projectors with 4100k standard and it comes out really white. blue at first then turns white after warm up. h'ever, i'm planning to upgrade to 6000k but not sure what to get.

Rominl,
I just bought some Hid's from misterjung for $380 with shipping included. Why did you pay $460 for them? I bought it from eBay too. I haven't had much problem with them.
But, man, those HID sure makes a difference.

D2R is for reflector lamps (i.e. LS400/LS430/GS430/GS300/GS400 ect)
D2R has the shield on the bulb that conforms to the reflective properties and shines the lights together with the HID reflectors properly. I don't know too much about using D2s on reflector other than several people flashing you because your lights are too bright. Next time, look at cars/ SUVs with HID of the relfective type. Notice how the light shines from the upper part of the lamp rather than the entire lamp. D2R is somewhat responsible for this.

yup you are right. for all cars with reflective type bulbs you always only see light on the upper part of the housing, that's exactly caused by the metal piece on the bulb. when you install the reflective bulb in the housing, the metal piece will appear at the top side. therefore no light will come out of that area, so no light will reflect off the top part of the reflector located in the middle of the housing (the one that stuck out from the back of the housing to the front). that's why no light goes to the bottom part of the reflective housing and so you don't see any
